Recently blew out the stock carrier and looking to see what everyone is running. Been looking at 2 different ones. Baldwin and the one Houser sells on their website. The Baldwin one looks very tough, but the one Houser sell has a grease fitting and that seems like a better choice to have for bearings. What you guys think I should get? PS Its going to be used in mx

save yourself some money and get the burgard, 125 bucks and no problems going 1+ season on a set of bearings, i always put new bearings in after each season just for maintenance but they were never shot when i took them out. and its half the price of the others your looking at

RPM hands down best carrier out there, but if ya want to be like me and spend money 3 times instead of paying a little more the first time go right ahead lol

I like the rad. It used to have a grease zerk but some people didn't use it right so they may have gotten rid of it. but I like my dura-blue best.

Most all bearing carriers have grease fittings in them. Sometimes the location of the fittings varies from each company. You really should look at the features of each carrier, and look for the following:
- Cast or Billet carrier
- Single, double wide, or tapered Bearings
- Location of grease fitting

I personally have ran Lonestar Double wide and the Houser carriers. There really isn't a difference, but I do like the location of the grease fitting in the Houser. It is nice not to have to remove the carrier to grease the Bearing Carrier.

It is all really personal preference.

Which type of bearings work the best? from what i kno, i always thought that tapered bearings are very strong, but i havent had any experience with doulbe wide or dual row.etc.

i ran the stock carrier for a good year, the bearings were not smooth anymore so i took it out and "upgraded" or so i thought to an RPM ball bearing carrier. The bearings blew out after about seven rides and i had to get a new axle and carrier. Picked up a new OEM carrier off ebay. I have had better luck with stock bearings. Also the OEM carrier has a hardened center tube, baldwin does as well, this keeps the center tube from crushing and pre maturely wearing out the bearings.

ive been running stock forever and just recently ive been goin throught them like 3-4 times in one season. I put more into the motor and it has a smaller rear sprocket so it has less leverage on the axle which might hinder its durability. What kind of carriers hold up well to built motors?

im telling you the rpm is one of the best designed carriers out there especially the tapered one. its all in maintenance. if you take the time to take care of your stuff it will last alot longer. these are race machines. but do what you want to i have never had a problem with mine and im a b class rider.

I have a Houser carrier in my 450R w/ everything done to the motor but a bore and stroke. I have 3+ seasons on this carrier w/o a single problem. Just ensure that the carrier is properly lubed prior to every race and you should be fine.
