Depends on what your plans are for the bike.

hands down a hybrid crf would out handle and out power a 450r

My son is building a crf hybrid for next season. So while I don't have any seat time I can only think of one bad thing about a true hybrid...

At this time, you cannot run the pro class.

Other than that....I have heard nothing but positive things when comparing the trx450R to the hybrid.

My son's Walsh hybrid chassis is almost identical to my Walsh 250R chassis. Only the area around the motor is different, such as removable frame rail.

no doubt the Hybrid will out handle the TRX, the down fall, is reliability. the crf motor is not meant to pull that kind of weight around. i think it's hard on em. also, if you go to a national and break something, chances are slim you will be able to find a replacement part, however, with the TRX, parts are always available. for a local circuit/series, hands down the crf is a great bike, and will out corner not only a trx, but any production bike, but for a national rider, they are just not a good idea.been there, done that......
