looking for ways i can drop a little weight off my quad
I just added a bunch of weight with the lonestar swingarm and a little with the houser arms

Ive already ditched the snorkel and replaced it with a black paint can lid
And i ditched the parking brake

Any other ideas, im trying to make this quad as light as possible but still have good parts on it

Remove paint from frame, ball burnish to increase strength

take off your front bumper, ditch the air box completely, take off the tool kit, take the skid off of it. thats about all i can think of at the moment. steve

Remove heel guards, swingarm skid plate, tool box and mount, tail light and mount (install tail light in airbox if it's a must have), snorkel, airbox lid, 450r rear brake setup, have the flywheel shaved.

Smaller rotor and brake hub. I made a thread about it. Setup shaves about a 1lb off the stock EX setup.

Titanium/carbon fiber exhaust.
Lightweight chain and sprockets.

Ok i am removing the paint from the frame but only to get it powdercoated haha.

Tool kit is gone, id like to have some kind of swingarm protection along with protecting my rotor and sprocket

No tail light already, no snorkel, no airbox lid, and im prob gonna get the flywheel shaved but not because of weight savings mostly for other benefits

Lightweight chain and sprockets is another good idea, but i think i may be going with a sparks pipe, ot just stay with my R4 for now

Thanks for all the help guys, as im putting the quad back together this winter ill prob add up what i shaved down and get a final weight of the whole quad

Start eating only salads and run five miles a day really fast.
Haha jk
Switch to 2 ply tires if you are doing MX.
I think you can get an aluminum rear subframe from lonestar or someone.
This will also let you put on a real grab bar.

Holy crap could you imagine a custom full titanium system? Would be spendy (1500$ ish)
but wow what a weight loss.

Saw a full titanium system on a r32 skyline....from headers back it weighed 10lbs

Funny you say that.Really though if you can afford to lose alittle,go on a diet. I went from 191 to 167.I can deffenitley notice my quad is faster.

you might have to call. What about laeger? Call around and see, they might know. Back in the day, all those companys built 400ex's before the 450r came out. Surely somebody will know. But be prepared to spend some $$$$.
