Looking at buying a 400ex, and i came acrossed this one:2005 400ex (http://halifax.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-ATVs-snowmobiles-ATVs-2005-Honda-400-EX-w-reverse-W0QQAdIdZ232436183)

Its a good price for here in Canada, but im just a little concerned about the mods it has :440 kit, 11:1 piston, stage 2 cam, hot rod crank, rev box.

Do those mods make the motor any less reliable? And i would be a little concerned because the EX's are air-cooled, so would the motor be able to stay cool with all those mods?

Thanks in advance.

It would still be a decent motor for reliable but keeping the 440 cool with just the stock cooling system, now thats another story
If it had a spal fan or mayb even that and a set of air scoops or a bigger oil tank i think it would be fine.

The only place u will run into problems with it getting hot is going slow just cruising around the trails but if your usually going pretty fast i dont think you would have any problems

Alright, thanks for the info. I guess these big bore kits must be descently reliable because i see that lots of people have the kits.

Mine has done great for me. And i dont think any one on here put there's through what we put it through. Like a big shot of nos high RPM's off the line and spraying it ball's to the wall for a 1/8 mile. But i would not just ride it slow for to long.
