guys a friend of mine just bought a 2001 400 ex. previous owner removed/blocked off the choke.
previous owner told him when he starts it dont give it any gas it will start right up. it does start right up but only when it is warm out. If it is below 50 degrees out it won't start.
anything we can do to get it to start without replacing the entire carb.
like maybe hold gas wide open when starting? any ideas. this is a real pain in the ***

I just pump the throttle a couple of times and it fires right up every time. Ive done this in 30 degree weather with no problem.

ya i was doing some searches and it seems like people are also suggesting the 42 pilot jet.
i don't know what he has in there now for a pilot jet.
I do know the previous owner said he put a cam in it and it has an fmf pipe with a white bros silencer on it

Yeah a 42 pilot would help if there isnt already one in it.
