I wanna cry

I worked like a mad man on this turkey call. It was looking flat awesome. When I re-chucked it to sand it I cracked the damn thing:grr:

I was able to fix it but what a let down. Lesson learned I geuss:p

damn shame, but such as the way it goes sometimes. Was the wood brittle b/c it was very dry?

Where did it crack? I see no evidence.

CJM- Cedar is prone to crack when it gets thin, and the walls of the call were around 3/16th. The chuck I was using goes inside the call body and expands...and me tweaked just a tad too much:(

Greg, they are not visable, I fixed them but wont sell it knwoing they are there. Wood keeps moving and I would hate to have someone have it fail on them.

I will try another one but it will take a few days for it to glue up. I just switched to cherry and mahogany :D

The burning part is simple and straight forward, that part is easy. It's the artistic ability that you lack :p

Nice work man, yes cedar is prone to being brittle when thin. But hey at least you fixed it :)
