I am doing a extra credit project for math to find out the gear ratios and top speeds capable with all the different gearing combinations, and maybe acceleration. I have the formula from dirwheels, and im figuring the all on top 400 rpms, which is 9800 i believe, and 4500 rpms. But i need the stock gear ratios from 1 threw 5th. Thanks.
the 400s rev limiter kicks in at 8200 i beleive, not 9800
1st 2.916 (12/35)
2nd 1.937 (16/31)
3rd 1.473 (19/28)
4th 1.181 (22/26)
5th 1.0 (26/26)
Primary reduction 2.826 (23/65)
Final reduction 2.533 (15/38)

Ok thatnks for the ratios, i thought it was 9800, i need to get a book. But the a/f rev limiter say they raise it buy 1000 rpms to 10800.
stock is 8200, aftermarket rev boxes are a waste of money, the 400 makes no extra power past 82

May be true but mine seems to run a lot better with the rev box
yeah, they said 400ex motor is designed to run 8200 and under and it works better when motors are built to run within that rpm range well thats what duncan says
