Looking for a good cdi Box to put in the 90. I have the motor work done and it runs great just wondering if I can get a little more out of it. I am wondering who sells a good cdi that will help and not be wasting money. Are there any programable cdi's?

i am using the purple one We have used it for 2 and a half seasons no problems.. It will rev to the moon. which is good and bad Holley rides hard but is smart enuff to no when shes pushin the bike to hard..... if they stay on the gas and dont let off there is nothing to stop the motor from reving to 18 or 20 thousand rpms

what are you racing xc or mx?????? i think the tb cdi box is more for torque and the kitaco horsepower

if you are running xc torque is what you want .......

we are running xc, and can use more torque.

pitster pro makes a digital setup also but you will have to change flywheel stator and the whole setup...not sure if you are interested in that just another option.......

you can call the pitster folks and ask for matt

Look at the CHP web site under the TRX90 section. There is the Kitaco CDI on there.

I did see that, I am having an issue because its an 07 with electric start.

does anyone know why the aftermarket CDI boxes will not work with an electric start motor? What can be done to override the starter relay? I would assume that is the issue.

I'm assuming its because you can pull start the older ones while they are in gear??? 06 and newer isn't able to do that since one of the wires is used as a ground and a hot wire depending on what position the shift switch reads. Just a guess..........

the stock cdi box w/ the rev limiter wire cut (pink) is the most reliable way.. aftermarket cdi boxes hit to hard and snap starter chains unless you buy a heavy duty cam chain for the starter. (better buy a few cam chains)
