I'm gonna buy some more parts this week. I've got to buy the rest of them and polish out the Aluminum parts in the Box. Then I'll be able to start the assembly. I'm gonna mock it all up, basically assemble the whole bike and make sure that its good to go. Then I'll tear it back apart to send everything off to powder coat, chrome and Polish a few things!!!! Its gonna be sick!!!

in order to post more then one pic at a time you need to get a photo bucket account and upload your pics to photobucket and copy/paste the IMG code into the reply field and then they will show up as pics

I'm gonna do the frame in a Metallic or candy blue! Its gonna be a little darker then it is now, so it will go with the plastics better. Right now the paint is too lightly colored, so it doen't match very good with the plastic. So darker is the key, plus I like the looks of the darker metallic/candy blue better!!!! We'll have too see what the powdercoater has to offer me? I'm gonna mock it up before I send it off to paint, to make sure everything fits well. Yeah, I've seen the video of that bike running too. Its hella fast!! As soon as I saw the video I had to own it, lol!!

Hey Kieth the key to your happiness will be choosing what pipe to make this motor work like you want it. The only reason Kyle sold it was because of the shearer in frame pipe not working with the motor on the low end.

I was also unfortunate and bought 2 shearer in frame pipes that just will not work for duning. Tossing $1000 aside is not easy to do. But WTF, its better to have a good working machine than trying to make something work that is just never gonna happen.

It sucks these awesome motors do not have anyone making a MX or dune pipe for them. I am still waiting (after three years)

Hey Tony, thats what I've been hearing. I think that I might try my PSI pipe on there. Its got the larger 1.25 pipe OD to the silencer, and it looks to be more of a mid range pipe. I had it on my PSI 425cc and it pulled hard through mid to the top. It had a nice topend for sure, but it was pretty decent in the mid range as well. So I guess we'll see here soon!!!! I'll let you know.

Haha good luck mounting any of those pipes to that frame if you had not done so already coz them Lobo's are not "pipe" friendly specially the silencer part. At least from my experience with my own, I found the best or easiest pipe mounting wise is the Paul Turner.
Btw, what spindles are you running ?
Either way, its nice to see another Lobo being built up.

Sounds pretty sweet. When you get that finished we can do some dune hill racing! If you start polishing that jug and need a hand I do have to tools to make it shine.

I'm running 400ex spindles, with baldwin hubs all polished and they look good!!

That sounds good Tony, we'll have to see how hard that cylinder is to polish. I've already polished out some cast parts 400ex spindles and they turned out pretty good. I'm really not looking forward to all the effort it takes to polish out that jug! But I'll do it and yeah we'll have to hit the dunes when I'm done!!! I'm gone do a bunch of ordering this week so I can get more of my parts together. I still have a lot of work to do though!!!!

I found that the Sheare pipe worked well on my dads PSI engine. I did not like the sheare pipe on my puma. I have ordered a pipe from CPI pipes. I am hoping that pipe works on the puma. Mike at CPI told me it will be a dune pipe. Should get shipped to me some time this week.

431cc is with the 4 mm stroke..not an addition. 85x76 = 431 cc's

85-78 = 442.6 cc's

these puma's can be a fun motor. IMO the best dune motor for the 250R.

Yeah I realize that the 4mil stroke is what makes it a 431. I did my reasearch, before I bought it. It was the biggest Puma that they make. I checked out CP industries web site and spoke with Calvin myself before even buying the motor. I knew what I was getting into. I didn't want to make the same mistake as I did with the PSI 425. Fast motor, but unreliable and ridiculas to try and get parts for!!!! I still thinking of rebuilding the PSI topend, but I'm not sure that I wanna deal with Bruce Kalahmer or whatever his last name is. He never has the pistons in stock and I keep hearing bad stuff about him. Plus I've already had a not so great experience with him and a silencer I bought from him. Anyone have any ideas on where I can find an 86mm piston for my PSI topend, would a Puma piston be close enough, with a resleve???

You are not far from one of the best 250R builders in the country. I am certain he could get you a piston for your PSI.
