which years crf head will fit on an 06trx, and do I have to use a crf cam holder? and which cam would work the best for this head for an mx build?

Yes you can use the trx cam holder and all other parts. The 02 CRF cam is considered the best for MX purposes But, like many things personal preferance is key.
So, are you using an 04-05 TRX lower end with a CRF head?

Airmobile I think he has been using +06 bottoms.... from some of his pics all ive seen is over 06 style... im not sure about the 04/05 bottom ends, Blacksheep seams to have a good amount of experience with head swaps!! maybe pm him or if he or anyone else has knowledge of the earlier years could let us know. thanks for the help blacksheep, this seams like this modification is the way to go for some more bolt on power!

would it just be a matter of drill and tapping a thermostat into the CRF head for the fan to work or would there be more work to it than that? do the CRF heads also use SS valve seats? im halfway considering doing this mod to my 450 as well.

there isn't a thermostat housing at all on the crf!! its a coupling to a hose fitting that you just put a in line temp gauge on and switch your fan to work when you want it to run

Yea, just wanna make sure before I pull the trigger for my winter project. I could care less about a thermostat anyways.....
