I got this dog from the pound in 03 and I must say she has been the best dog I have had the pleasure of having. She was grown when I got her and someone had spent many hours working with her, she even knows hand signals. I took a photo of her the other day and compared it to an earlier picture and my are the years are showing.

Pretty big difference but the dog appears to still be healthy. I love animals and watching them get older is always a tough thing.

Im the same way. My american bulldog just got really sick (she is over 10) and the vet had no idea what was wrong with her. They did a lot of tests and they all came back negative. After about a month of being sick, she is finally almost better. She is still as energy packed now as she was years ago too. Your dog however appears to be very healthy. Boxers are good dogs, she'll be around for plenty longer

This is my 4th boxer and they only live an average of 10-12 years. So she is around 9 or 10 now so it may not be too long before she goes. She got sick a few months ago and I thought I was going to loose her but she pulled through, the vet had no idea of what her problem was. At the moment she is healthy and full of life again but she does have a bad hip and she limps when she walks but she runs like the wind. Go figure. http://planetsmilies.net/animal-smiley-4898.gif (http://planetsmilies.net)

I still remember getting my cats back when I was 5 or so, in 1st grade, now I'm in 12th, it's sad to see them getting old. I'm hoping my cats make it to 20 though, they are indoor cats so I think it's possible! haha

Def is hard watching pets grow old.. I have always found that when they get old, if you have any intensions of getting another one after your pet passes, to get a puppy prior to the old one going. It makes things a little easier when they do.. That was a good looking dog, still is considering her age.. :)

Had to put my mini schnauzer to sleep about 2 years ago last xmas. Dog was 14, had arthritis, cataracts and couldnt see nearly at all (otherwise was happy till the end) but what did her in was she always had bad ear infections due to narrow ear canal. Eventually the ear canal rotted out and it was coming out of her eye (puss) had to put her down and shoulda done it sooner but its hard to let go. Was a really good dog I taught many things, I still miss her.

Rescued another mini schnauzer about 6 mo after we put the last one down, was just to empty at the house. This ones ok, but def has issues and cant play like a normal dog and doesnt interact to well. Its taken a good year just to make sure she doesnt have an issue with you making a noise. Also cant teach her tricks, try and try and try and nada. Oh well, at least we rescued her form certain death.

Don’t feel bad about waiting too long with putting them down, sometimes you have to make sure you are doing the right thing and not doing it too soon just to make yourself feel better. If you have a good conection with your dog they will look you in the eye and let you know when it's time to let them go.
I found this dog at one of my tree farms that had been dumped and left to fend for itself. It stayed at the front gate for a week and never left and there were no houses for miles around so I brought him home and he took several years to get where he trusted anyone but me. He was old when I found him and I had to put him down when he got cancer. But at least he had a good and safe home for his last few years.
I hate it when people just dump animals and leave them, those people need to be dumped on a desert island and left like they did there dog.
And for lack of a better name we just called him old dog and he seened to like it.

I was just sitting here remembering all the dogs I have had over the years.

Sugar – mixed breed
Bo Zo – German short hear bird dog
Bo – German short hear bird dog
Buttons – Miniature Schnauzer
Kong – (stray) mixed breed
Red – Irish setter
Tiger – (stray) pit bull
Wrinkles – pit bull
Wheezy – Boxer
Dudley – Boxer
Biggin’ – 90lbs white Boxer, ‘hence the name’
Brown dog - (stray) mixed breed
Old dog – (stray) Australian shepherd
Princess – (pound) Boxer

These were just the dogs that were mine, (gee I've had a lot of dogs)growing up on a farm there were many other dogs that belonged to other family members. One time we had several dogs with puppies and we had 57 puppies at one time. One of the best memories I have as a kid was laying on the floor and having 57 puppies just have there way with you all at the same time.
Ah! What memories!

old dog looks like my grand parents dog pal. at there farm in north dakota they came back from church, and someone dropped him off with some food. We never found out who, but he lived for quite some time. Interestingly pal changed my grandpas ways lol. when ever pets or animals got sick, they went behind the wood shed lol. pal never had that problem. he had infection that got taken care of at the vet, also had a problem with his ear that got fixed at the vet. eventually he had to get put down, also taken care of at the vet. he was a mutt.

Of course I have, infact I had it happen to me more than a few times (my cousins dog is crazy).

But 57 puppies all at once? The picture that idea paints in my head is just really odd yet funny lol.

The funny part is I said malled ( I had to miss spell it here so the sensor would not block it). What I meant was to lay down and let puppies crawl all over you and play with you, not hump your leg.lol That’s too funny.lol
