Hey so I got this axle the other day, its a stocker obviously. Currently, my bearings in my carrier are shot, and my carrier is cracked. Also, the axle that I'm using now is a durablue, but all the splines are trashed from the lock nut comming loose, and the hub castle nuts comming loose. The previous owner was not as meticilious as I am...

So anyways, the stocker was FREE, so I'm not complaining.

My question is about the wear on the one side. I bought a brand new carrier with dual row bearings, the external grease fitting, ect. I'm worried that this slight wear on the axle is going to speed up the wear on the bearings and ruin my new carrier. When I slide the axle into the carrier if feels snug, but not tight...

Here's what its looks like:

Does this seal look alright??

Now here's the part that I'm worried about:

Should I use it? I realize that its not trashed, actually its pretty nice! I'm just worried because my carrier and bearing are brand new and I want this setup to last forever. I'm sure I'll bend it soon enough though :P

since i cant see the pictures the most that i can suggest is to get a dial caliper and check the tolerances on it to make sure it is in spec where it needs to be. I dont have a face book account- thats why i cant see the pics, not that they dont work. steve

Earlier I was posting pictues from there using .... and they worked fine. I think facebook realized that I hate it and am just using it for image hosting... hahahaha

Good Idea on the dial caliper! Can't believe I didn't think of that!

Yea I was just looking into photobucket. I need to start getting serious with it because I take tons of pictures, and plan on living on this forum this winter.

All of my friends hate winter because they can't ride as much, I love it because I get to tear into my bike.

I like wrenching as much as I like riding!!!!
