Hey
I was wondering where are the numbers on the frame on 86-89 ??? Are they all in the same place ??? Also I need to see some pics of the bottom of a 250r frame. I think I have an 87 frame but am not sure and want to know ASAP. Any help would be appreciated.

The VIN plate on the 86 87 is near the rear shock reservoir welded to the frame. The 88 89 is between the front upper shock mounts. 87 frame would have bolted on footpegs, 88-9 the bracket is part of the frame.

If you think your missing a back motor mount, take a look at the frame above the swingarm bolt. if it is curved it is an 88-89. These years dont use the motor mount, it is bolted to the frame. I just bought an 89 and thought I was missing the mount as well until I found this out.

I should have said the part of the frame that parallels the swingarm would be curved, dont want to confuse you.
