here are the parts I have... the problem is when i put it all together, I am having trouble putting the quick change cover on it seems to be hitting the basket... I have taken it apart 5 times. I can't figure out what is going on...

did hinson modify this cover? they might have a different spacing to allow for the 8 plate set up

I had the same problem, when hinson first made this modafication to the sidecovers, they did not make the first batch deep enough, the only time you will have any problems' is when trying to run the 8 plate setup. i talked to a couple of different people at Hinson, before i finally talked to a guy who had been there for years, and remembered the change. He sold me a new cover for $ 50 - 60, i cant remember, i was just happy to have someone know what i was talking about....lol

are you talking about the bolt on cover or the whole clutch mod?

just the bolt on cover that says Hinson on it. The first ones they made, were not deep enough for the 8 plate basket.

The 8 plate clutch assemblies need the Hinson or CT covers produced or modified for the extra plates.

You can also have a competent machine shop deepen the Hinson lid…
