a big group of us are going to little sahara in april. i have a few questions

do you need a 4x4 truck or are there parking areas where thats not needed?

is this place big enough you can get lost ?

whats the weather like in mid april ?

there is a parking lot and from what i here the weather is nice that time of the year.

I was there for a week last april first few days it 75 to 85 degrees. last couple days 50 degrees. Your not going to get stuck in the parking lots or any thing, so you dont need 4wd. We parked in the north parking lot. So when i got lost i would go up a big dune and look for the watertower that was to the north... but you can just follow the fence.

are you planning on going down for snake hunt week? its a really good time. lots of people so if you dont want to be around a lot of people i guess you wouldnt want to go then

im thinking about going too, the group im planning on going with i dont know that well, and my main problem with them is i know that its going to turn into a drunken-night-riding-fest, sorry to bag on anyone who really likes that but its now my idea of fun
maybe i will have to find some exriders to hang out with, i will prob wear my exriders shirt if its nice enoughand here's my quad(i still have to get paddles) and i now have black side covers, heatsheild and front motor mounts, so really that dont even look like my quad anymore

Hello everyone,

A group and myself have a house booked for april 16-20. We are coming down from council bluffs, IA. I'll post a picture later of my quad(shes getting "the treatment" lol) and hopefully see a lot of you guys down there. I heard its a blast...lets hope so! We should be rolling down in a duramax with a 12 inch lift and 37's, I think you can probably pick it out!

We rented one in Waynoka. Its on north spruce road. Jeremy Durkee is the owner, he lives next door. Supposed to be 2-3 miles from the park. He said the house would sleep 7-8 pretty easy, had cable, heat, a/c, stove/grill/microwave, etc. Seemed like a nice guy, and I couldn't beat the price 40 bucks a night, with no capacity limit :devil

Silver, thanks for your help on getting me that 416 piston. I like the one on one service and you can probably look for me to be ordering other things from ya!

That is really cheap $40 a night.. we stayed at a house on Rose Street and this time we are staying at one on Main Street.

hey skinrider440, i am going to sahara on the 15th sat maybe the 14th too. will have my fresh powdercoated and chromed 400 and sandrail up there. i will be riding with my buddy i work with and his brother and friends will be down from iowa, i think the town there from is van meter, iowa. we (jon and myself) have ridden with them the last 3-4 years they have been down. i think there will be 10 to 20 riders down, 70 degrees and sun shining really makes me ready for the sand :D

I out ran Jake my first 2 passes then i had some stupid problems. he was barely out running our slower bike on gas. he ran well, but too bad our fast bike broke.

Oh. I just heard from like 3 or 4 guys that the only bike up there that got close to Jakes was Dune Trash who would start pulling on him close to the end of the track. Havent had much time to talk to Jake, he just said that you were there but your bike broke. Are you going to be up there during snake hunt?? Jake and all them will probably be up there the Easter ride and stay till Snake Hunt. Im going to do everything I can to be able to at least go to the Snake Hunt ride.

my carb is on its way to edelbrock to get straightened out, they said it will be back in time, all i need is a flag

what is the camp area like? or will it be full? i was kinda plannin on bring the tent and sleeping bag, otherwise i better find a place to stay the 16th cause the rest of group isnt heading down till the 17th, i dont figure they like people sleeping in the back of the truck

phil if you get there as early as you say you should about get to chose where you want to camp, we were lucky that someother people got there earlier to save our spot. you should get a spot to throw up your tent in pretty easily. from the way duneaholics i usually go with said they don't care if you sleep in your truck but this was also a year ago and the rules could have changed.

i plan on going down on the 16th too so see ya there, look at my thread for spring break to see some of what we will be riding.
