I am getting ready to adjust the valves on my Outlaw 525, and the Polaris dealership has me completely confused. One tech told me I would need a shim kit this KTM motor, but the other tech said no shim kit is required. They argued back and forth, and I walked out.

I did not think I needed a shim kit to adjust the valves, but now I am second guessing myself.

So do the 525 Outlaws require a shim kit or not???

Thanks

Thanks SSJeff

I am only checking/adjusting the valves, so I should not need to remove the water pup cover correct?

Will I need any other gaskets or seals on hand before I rip into it?

Watch the video in middle of the page, it goes through the whole valve adjustment. You have to adjust the valves once the new cam is installed so it is part of the how to. Very easy to do. if you rip a small cover gasket you can replace it. I have yet to rip one.
