my 1985 lt250r wont kick start but will pop start

just like what i said b4 it will pop start but wont kick start. i replaced the spark plug and cleaned the carberator... twice. it has relativly good compression but still wont kick start. the kick start poked a hole thru my shoe i swear to good this THING is evil.:devil:

have u done a compression ck. with a guage

Check pick up coil and rotor to see if loose or rusted.

More than likely your reeds are broken.
