i am getting back into racing quads after a few year stint with dirt bikes....i'm about B level and would like to know from some fast guys....twist or thumb throttle? ever since i got on my 450 quad i feel like my thumb has been cramping up too early for me to hold a lead in a race.....

Just get used to the thumb throttle, it offers a lot more control once you are able to use it without getting tired

i say stick with the thumb throttle. you will get used to it and not get as tired. although someone in my series in pro class uses a twist...

The only one who can answer this is you, have to try both and see what you are more comfortable with. For me, twist throttle all the way. If someone told me I had to ride with a thumb throttle, I would quit riding, I can't stand them.

Twist throttle imho on a quad isnt a good idea.

A quad you must use the handlebars alot more for control, thus if you were to accidentally (and I have heard and saw videos of this same exact thing btw) hit a bump or whatever you jam the throttle.

If you keep it pinned you wont get a thumb cramp.lol

When my thumb gets tired I found if you loosen the clamp on the throttle just enough so that you can grab it with both hands and rotate it down just a bit and the thumb cramps go away then I can easily move it back. The point is if you have it set to high you will get thumb cramps. Too low and you can’t get all the way on it sometimes.

check motion pros website
i run a motion pro 1/8th turn twist
i love it... i cant stand thumb throttle my thumb gets too cramped and through rough sections my thumb would slip off

Baller, knock it off. If you're not going to post useful information that actually adds something, don't post at all.

I've been looking through your post history, you haven't made a single worthwhile post. Don't force me to decide the site is better off without you.

It does take some time to get used too but I have no more thumb cramp/arm pump issues.
