I have a 07 es. I put a kickstart on it and took the battery and electic start out. The fan won't run with out the battery. So I need to know where to hook the fan up the run all the time?

ground the wire that goes to the temp sensor, not totally sure on the Estart models but that makes the fan run full time with the kicker bikes

I tried tht but it won't work bc the battery isn't hooked up. If I had the battery hooked up I think it would work.

if so you will need to take the red from the reg/rect and put to the black of fan.

tell what is removed and what you still have and I think we can help better

I removed the key. I have the red wore off the voltage reg. But it is only reading 2 volts so I think it's shot? Rite. The wires coming off ther fan r blue and green

yes im sorry its blue not black!!but that is the wire that needs power, do you have a schematic?

is the wire harness still there or is it almost all gone?

Yes the wiring harness is complete.. Is tht the only place I could get enough power for the fan?

here is a schamitic

im thinking that its more the key removed that cause your problem! the fan will still run with battery removed. when you removed your key switch all you need to do is put the red to black and everything in your system will be normal

edit::: also make sure that your system is still grounded! if you removed both your battery and starter, then you might be missing a ground

Much volts should be coming out of the voltage reg?

you have a hard time getting a good reading of it without a peak voltage meter, depending on rpms you will get different readings

the kick start models have a condensor to act as a battery to allow the fan to run at full speed. without either one, the fan will speed up and slow down with rpms

Ok I got it.. thanks alot for ur help.

now you tell me!! I just spent an hour fixing a schematic for modifying a e start with removing battery in yellow...LOL thanks alot

Tht helps me better. The yellow lines tht u have going to the starter relay wht do I do with those?I got the red wire going to the blue wire on the fan. And the other green wire on the fan going to a ground..

those two wires are from the start button, the yellow with green stripe and yellow with red stripe just isolate ends with some tape they will not be needed if you have removed the starter

Ok one last question. I have the blue wire off the fan going to the red wire off the voltage reg.. Now the green wire coming off the fan do I just ground tht to the frame or hook it back into the green wire tht I unpluged it from?

if your still using the thermo switch, then keep it plugged into the cdi. but if you removed the thermo switch, then it will run all the time that the quad is running and you can just take the wire from sending unit (thermo switch) and ground it

without temp switch unit do this.... yellow lines are not used!!!!
