Electrial Queastion battery not charging

99 400EX, engine rebuild over the past winter with new battery. Over the summer the battery seems to lose its charge, now its to the point that before every ride I need to recharge the battery. Something is causing it to discharge, or not recharge when the bike is running.

What do I need to check to figure out why the battery is no being charged.

Its probably just a bad battery.When its not being used put it on a battery tender.When the battery starts losing its charge it will kick back on and then shut off when charged again.
