My 400ex had been sitting for a month or so with a brand new battery, went riding no problems, two days later my buddy took it down the street and back almost to the driveway he tried a wheelie stalled it and it wouldnt start battery DEAD. So I hook it up to trickle charge over night test battery and its got 12.57 volts but when I try to start it it turns slow (like dead battery) and wont start recheck volts and theyve dropped to 6.5-7v...put it on charger and they charge back to 12.57v?????
Could this battery be bad and just not getting enough cranking amps? What else "could" it be?
Thanks

very possible, since you bought it recently, get your receipt and take it back to where you got it and at least have it tested for a bad cell. I would suspect that is what it is imo. a cell tester will determine this and is mostly the case when batteries dont hold cranking amps. if it does have a bad one tell them they can keep it and you want a new one to replace it. steve

Even new ones go bad sometimes, try a new battery.

Probably has a bad cell in the battery, try a new one.
