I bought a 400ex all taken apart very cheap so I am rebuilding it 416 kit Stage 2 cam mild port head I was putting in the crf cam and I notice in the manual that in the head on the timing chain side there is a small hole in the head and there is suppose to be a plugger and spring or something in it what does it do? I dont have that part I will just order it it is something that is needed any help would be great want to get on it an ride might be making it a mx quad

This is a pic of the part, number 4 5 on the left side, What does it do?

the plunger and spring are for the decompression mechanism on the stock cam. if you have an aftermarket one, you will not be using either part. with the hotcam you are running it is not needed so you are good to go there. just make sure there is nothing in there before you put it together. steve
