View Full Version : Traded one of my babies....

Traded one of my 400ex's away last week. I had 2. Just wasn't riding it...

It was a 02 and pushed 38hp. It was a good bike. I used it for trails and woods.

Pic attached.

Guy traded me his 02 KTM 250 sx (2 stroke) ~50 hp (scary fast). Pretty clean. He also gave me 500 bucks.

I took 450 of that 500 and bought a 2000 XR50 for my kids. They have been having a blast with it so far. I like riding it too! ha

So, basically traded one of my EX's for 2 bikes which is what I wanted to move towards. I still have my black 440ex that I've posted on here before.

My dad also recently handed me down his Kawi 450r (bone stock). Think I'll ust do some basic mods on that (Filter, programmer, HMF pipe) and call it good. I rode one at the dunes a few months ago with just those mods and it was pretty impressive.

Sounds like you did pretty good.
now here's my jealousy part,....
DANG IT ! I've wanted one of those Clarke fuel tanks for a long time. I just don't want to pay the retail price for one, LOL!
I don't like the IMS tanks anywhere near as much as the Clarke tank.

Enjoy the bikes with your kids. It's some of the best and most fun type of riding there is.
We went camping/riding last weekend, and Nickolas did his first "away from camp" trail ride. He went for 8 miles !
(all at the mind boggleing speed of 10 MPH, LOL !)

Yeah, I loved that tank. It made the bike very unique and was handy as well. That tank sold me on the bike when I bought it if memory serves. I'll miss that quad.

Yeah, everyone loves the 50 so far. Heck, even my wife loves it! She's only 5' tall, so, it fits her pretty good. I love how she was all not into it when I wanted to buy it, now she asks to ride it. ha!

I'll get some pics up in a second of the bikes.

Here's the XR50. Since we are not moving in this pic, I figured it's ok to post with no head gear. Sorry you get to see my ugly mug. These are my 2 youngest kids. I have 2 older. All ages are 1.5, 3.8, 7.3 and 9.8. :)

My wife reminded me that our collection of combustion powered stuff is starting to get out of hand. I counted 40 cylinders under my care as of today.

8 - 03 Escalade ESV
8 - 04 Suburban
6 - 87 300zx
1 - Craftsman Riding lawnmower
1 - Honda push mower (from 82 and still kickin)
1 - Craftsman 25cc sidewalk edger
1 - Honda pressure washer
1 - 25cc Honda weed wacker
1 - TRX 90
1 - TRX 90
1 - 300ex
1 - 250 Recon
1 - 440ex
1 - Kawi 450r
1 - KTM 250 sx
1 - XR50
4 - Bayliner 175
1 - T-Maxx 3.3
40

I think I have a sickness....

Anyone have more than 40 cylinders under their care? Do share!

Haha, cool pic.
get some of those side rigger style training wheels that bolt to the bottom of the frame, and get the munchkins goin' !!!

Cylinders will take me a few minutes to count,...
But if you REALLY want to scare your pants off,.. try counting your TIRES !!!
Last weekends camp trip, I had 37 tires to keep inflated.
THATS ONLY WHAT WE HAD FOR THE CAMPING TRIP !!!
( that's not counting all the vehicles, toys, and equipment at home !)

smelly$cat
09-29-2010, 10:12 PM
yeah, I've seen those training wheels. I might have to pick up a set. My 3.8 yr old is very excited about the 50 and really wants to ride it. We have a couple of those KFX power wheel quads (not sure if you have seen those) that he rides around mainly. He wants to ride on 2 wheels though... He'll get there.

I also want to get a tractor or a dozer or something to put a track together in my back yard. I need to educate myself on this topic more though. Not sure what the best piece of equipment would be for such an application.

In a 25+ mph wind, I can make it accelerate so quickly, that you will have trouble holding your neck straight. It will litteraly do 2 1/2 times the speed of the wind, and mine is one of the SLOWER ones !
Current landspeed record is 126+ mph, and that was in approx. 43 mph wind.
that record recently beat the old one, which was 116 mph in a 27 mph wind.

these will certainly make you wet your pants.....

Yeah, I've heard they are more durable. I could probably beef up the T-Maxx with a bunch of aluminum parts, but, I've always just snagged everyone's stock parts off ebay to keep it going.

Yeah, ours has been rock solid as well. Granted we only have about 120hrs on them. But still, good power for the size of the boat. Pulls wake boarders with no hesitation.

wakeboarders are easy to pull.

trying pulling a 200lb slolem. then you'll know if your boat has enough power.

I can see that. Never tried it. Boat did come with one though, so, I assume it would work.

How selfish of me and I was thinking about more lift for mine, its hard to be a good parent ,he does have a jacked up wagon though. Whenever he hears my 4 wheeler he comes a runnin I never get to ride by my self, there I go being selfish again.

Don't worry,.... I'm here to help.
Now listen closely, and submit your undivided attention.

That child NEEDS to know that he is loved.
He is counting on you to provide for him, and to teach him all, that is of value and importance.

It is YOUR responsibility to make him feel confident, and worthy.

You,... must insure,... that he has all the tools available to him, to acheive success and worthwhile accomplishment.

He DESERVES a Lift Kit.
He DESERVES a Long Travel set-up.
He DESERVES a Big Block.
He DESERVES a Supercharger.
He DESERVES a Bottle (NOS of coarse!).

Now go forth a BE that Parent, that we all know You can be.
Give the boy, what he DESERVES !
DONT DENY him, those basic fundemental necessities.

DAMMIT MAN, you can DO it !
