We are in the process of lowering my brothers 400ex and I have a few ideas on fixing the a-arms but I wanted to get your ideas. Anything and everything.

The shorter shocks are putting the ball joints in a bind and I'm afraid if the front end comes down to hard after a launch or wheelie it might not be pretty. We were thinking about getting another set of a-arms and cutting the ball joint out of there and welding in a new piece of heavy wall tube that is threaded and putting aftermarket threaded ball joints in with a jam nut.

The pic below might explain better. The black is the a-arm from the front, the red is the ball joint. Top is how it is now, and the bottom is how it needs to be. In case you were wondering, this image isn't off Honda's website :)
