im pretty sure a good port job alone costs between 300 and 400 bucks so for 500 all included seems nice idk tho

Try BDT Motorsports 909-802-6516; they re-sleeve Pro-X cylinders all the time with steel & aluminum liners.

They re-sleeved a friend of mines 330R with a steel sleeve (port matching included) for around $400 including the high quality Wossner German made piston kit…

BDT-M is not the least expensive builder, however; in my opinion they are the best.

Check around, make some calls, after talking to a few, go with the builder you feel is the best shop for the money.

PS: lots of work is involved to re-sleeve a cylinder properly; $400 sounds about right, $500 might be on he high end…

Carlos.

the 225.00 im quite sure includes the labor involved in removng the old sleeve, all prep involved installing the new one and port matching. if you think about it, its not really that bad a price. juss my .02.

btw: might i suggest giving Titan Racing a ring. do a search.

A shop that will install cylinder sleeves, offers that service, normal labor cost is $180.00 & includes boring out the old cylinder sleeve, prepping the cylinder casting for the new sleeve, installing the new sleeve, blending the port windows to the casting, bore & hone the new sleeve for a new piston & then champher port windows.

$180.00 labor, is provided you buy the new replacement sleeve from the installer. If not, then the labor cost for installation is higher priced.

You suppling the sleeve might be where the $225.00 cost is comming from, if your suppling the new sleeve.

I tell you though, with the price ESR has on their complete new cylinder kits, its hard to go with sleeving a cylinder anymore.
I know their portings not that great, but its all brand new.

You're spot on Neil. I had some real nice port work, so I wanted to use my old cylinder. I'm saving my nickels and dimes for the ESR kit and Uncle Neil's port clean up! :D

What would be nice, would be a trade in program, where you send your old cylinder in & trade it for a brand new one.

Only problem though would be the port work your loosing with the trade in, but brand new might over weight that.

I would go ahead & do the re-sleeve then, just to try & save that port work.

Did you ever find out why your 330R seized in the first place? First you need to answer this basic question…then rebuild.
