what camcorder

I am looking for a good camcorder to take some videos of mudding in trucks, and quad riding. I want something in HD and wanted to try to stick around $300 what do you guys recommend. Or should i just get a good camera with a video option?

Panosonic or Sony is what you need. The other brands are junk...
