I just got some new Douglas wheels .125 for my son. One of the front wheels is not holding air. I put some soapy water to it, and got bubbles blowing out of the wheel itself at the cutout for the hub. I guess it must be leaking at the seam where the front and rear side of the wheel are welded together.

-Anybody else ever have this problem, or is it common for these wheels to do this?

-Is there any problem running tubes if need be?

I have one brand new rim and tire that have been leaking since day one. I've dunked it and water and didn't see anything. I was paying attention to the tire and bead only though. I'll have to check it out again.

if they are NEW and I spent good money on them I would send it back. If you want to run it, break it down , clean the inner seam and use black silicone to make a good seal all the way around, dunnit many times just as precaution on junky robot welds.

If they are new I'm sure if you call DWT they will send you a new wheel they are great people to work with.

Thanks for the replies.

I'm going to try giving them a call, hopefully they'll take care of it. I didn't buy the wheels locally, but over the net, and out of state. I figured with a large order that I could save some $$$ by not having to pay the sales tax. Not always a good idea I guess if you have to pay shipping to return something.

Thinking out loud, by the time I get the tire un-mounted, and the wheel shipped back to them, I would be out an additional $15.00 or so for a $40.00 wheel.:ermm:

When I bought the wheels, one of my boys wanted polished and the other wanted black wheels. So when I bought the polished DWT's, I also bought a black set of the DWT JR Champion in a box for my other son, and the champion wheels seem to be made better. The lip of the champion wheel has a rolled edge.

Anyone ever try the G-Force XC wheels on a mini? I seen them on the RMATV website, and they have the same bolt pattern and offsets. They also have the rolled edge.
