are the 22's really the best thing to run on these 250's?
what tire do you guys recomend or use for xc trail riding

yes,but not the ballony tires you said
if you go lower than the 22s you will lose top speed,which i dont believe really matters in the trails.
i beleive that a smaller tire will help with acel.
you can go with kenda,maxis,holeshots and others
correct it me if i m wrong

Your right on wanting to get rid of them, the fact that they are 22's doesnt really mean too much, its the fact that they are 2 ply, rounded, and have very shallow tread. You can keep the 22 inch size if you like the top end, i went to 20's and only lost a few miles an hour. As far as tire choices, take your pick.
