Hey I was wondering what type of bearings Honda uses on the 400ex. I know its a 6004 bearing but is it just a radial contact or angular? Just wondering because Im designing a hub for BAJA and i want to build it similiar to Honda front hub...

are you asking about front or rear bearings?

It looks like just a plain bearing, not angular or anything special.
I believe the angular part is a brass collar.
This site has diagrams of all the stuff for the front hub.

Good luck with your baja car.
I did it in 2009.
Are you going with a traditional layout or something unique?

Actually its an SAE sponsored competition. The teams are different colleges and the rules are very very strict. We have to use a 10 horse briggs and i think its even governed to something like 7 or 8... but it looks good on resume. They are very small buggys, kinda like a honda pilot but less power. I get to design the hub so i figure I might make it similiar to something I know will last
