Got a cheap 400ex project and im doing a "budget" stock rebuild to make this thing my wifes bike. heres what she looks like, and heres how the motor came, in three dif dirty torn apart carboard boxes! lol.
parts to fix it/ make it run good... Got a brand new oem crank, hot rod bearings, cylinder and piston on the way, oil seals, valve seals, valve springs, timing chain, cam and bearings, gasket kit, new throttle and clutch cables...Im sure I have forgot something I ordered but I think I have about everything I need to build this bike now. Will probably take me about 3-4 hours to rebuild the motor (could usually do it in 90min-2 hours but im guessing im gunna be digging threw those boxes for random missing dowel pins and stuff like that lol) and probably two days to put the whole bike back together as im on the injured list and working slow.
Now my fav part... the price, I dont usually talk about prices of stuff in forums but I am going to just to show that things can be done in a pinch if it has to. I got the bike for $650 with a title and the new oem crank. With ALL the parts I have bought my total so far is $932.64 for the bike thanks to exriders and ebay that will have a damn near new motor. Only thing thats going to put me over 1000 is that I am going to buy new tires. but oh well, itll be worth it.
Anybody think of anything I should be ordering for the motor or bike itself that I have forgotten?
