We are thinking of going to the NEATV race this weekend, he will be racing the 200/300 class. I see there are 2 classes B & C can anyone tell me what the difference is. This is1st year riding not slow but not fast, not afraid to hit most jumps but not ready for the big ones, any suggestions???

Also how is the track fast, technical big jumps, small jumps, etc,

Thanx Ken

As far as I know the difference is the B class is faster and more expreienced then the C class. Here is a video from the last practice at Walden: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxO_1VGtFis

i would start in the youth C for now, being its his first race, you can always move up but its tougher to move down.

Walden is a good track to start on i would say, some bigger jumps but the youth B do all of them and the big ones are really safe triples so he'll be able to double them at first, the only one to be careful on is the downhill double out of the corner.

he'll have a blast tough!! im 51 on a red/black 450r if you see me!

neatv youth b and c classes are seperated by age not ability the c class is 13-14 and b is 15-16, walden is a fast track with some big and some small jumps and usually a pretty tough to figure out whoop section just before the finish line. i won't be at walden but if you do go you will get hooked and i will see you at hemmonds lol.

they are separated by age and ability, sort of. the b class is 13-16, not 15-16. If he is younger than 15 and this is his first race I would recommend the Youth C class.

From the rule book...
Youth 200/300 B (age 13-16)
13-16 years of age only. 240cc maximum 2-stroke or 300cc maximum 4-stroke. No big bore 300ex's. This class will be checked for cc maximum. NO hybrids. If a rider is 16 years old they can race this class and a higher class as long as it is not a pro level class.

Youth 200/300 C (age 12-14)
12-14 years of age only. 240cc maximum 2-stroke or 300cc maximum 4-stroke, no big bore 300ex's. This class will be checked for cc maximum. NO hybrids. The top 3 in final points standings must move up to Youth 200/300 B class. The only exception would be if a top 3 rider were still 12 years old next season that rider would run this class again. You can run this class as well as a kid’s class.

I race youth b and will be there this weekend. Saturday is practice, sunday is race day. Youth b is a pretty fast class . there are only usually around 7-8 people in it but they are generally grouped together well through out the race. Youth C is usually full gated as in 20 people and ranges from very skilled to first year rider. youth c would be great for him to start out in.

the weather for the weekend is supposed to be very good.
