The bolt that holds the rear brake lever on is stripped out.(last owner) i've always noticed the lever being loose but i havn't really checked into it. Anyone know how to fix this? it's not like i can just tap it into the next size up because of the special bolt you need. anything else to try? thanks

its called a Brake Pivot Shaft and at Bike Bandit its $12.53. Just buy a new one. Before you put it in, chase the threads with a tap.

if the threads are stripped then put a heli-coil in it

is it the actual bolt hole or the bolt itself? Either way. Its a simple fix. Either heli-coli the hole or buy a new bolt from somewhere.

sorry it's the threads in the frame. I could try the heli coil, or i may just fill the hole with a weld, then tap it again with new threads. thanks for the help!

dont weld and try to retap. total pain in the *** as the weld is usually porus, uneven and harder steel. Plus it all rides on a bushing so if you arent dead nuts redrilling you will slowly eat up the bushing. Helicoil is the best bet.
