I have been doing some reading, but nothing that really helps me out. I have a 07 450r that I have a full pipe, uni filter, have a dyna jet kit for it.. The biggest jet in that kit is a 140.. From what I can get dyna numbers are diff from other make jets.. I am figuring that the 140 will be the one to start with. For the most part i do not think i am going to even mess with the secondaries, as it seems to be fine at idle to part throttle.. Can you all give me some info on where to start out as far as needle settings ect.. The 450 carb on my 400 was a breeze, but were talking 2 diff beasts..Thanks

I have an 07r with a pro armor full exhaust, uni.Mine said to use the 128.I know alot of people are going to jump on here and start telling me its jetted wrong and not to use that brand of jet kit.Runs perfect been running it for a year and a half so hold your breath.Worked great for me hopefully you will have the same results.

Are you using the dyna jet's?? And did you mess with any adjustment screws on the carb?? Thanks

here is a conversion chart that I found this might help you!

DYNOJET KEIHIN
DJ122- 135
DJ124- 138
DJ128- 140
DJ132- 142
DJ136- 145
DJ140- 148 (stock main jet)
DJ142- 150
DJ144- 152
DJ146- 155
DJ148- 158
DJ152- 160
DJ155- 162

I used the dynojet for awhile with no problems! but it just didnt have a good top end! switched to keihn jets and it was like i had a different carb. but the dyno didnt cause any problems at all, but you will notice the difference in response with the keihn

So,you got me curious about seeing a differance between the jets.My stock jet was a 120.Your chart says 148main.If I switched back to the stock needle what would you recommend for jetting.

I just found another comparison chart on (jets r us) and there's is difference, I do know that the dyno jets I used worked good! but when I put keihn in it seamed to give it a better response! im not sure if it was that i changed the needle along with it to the NCVQ needle jet

Just do what dyno jet says and you should be fine.

unless your looking for top performance, you will have no issues with the dyno

im just not satisfied unless i have the best and get the most out of my motor.

If your just putting around the trails then you probably dont need to do any thing serious with your jet kit, I used dyno jets for about a year with no problems!

Ok well for now, I just installed the 140 main jet, a full big evo pipe and uni filter. Havn't ran it yet. I am not sure that I will need to change the needle for the carb.. I am going to give it a shot tom.. I will play with the AF screw to fine tune. I am not really sure what diff the needles are going to make.. what is the true diff in the needles?

depending on the taper of the needle it will make it richer or leaner. I would use the needle simply because its designed as a kit but thats just me.

Ok so I put in the 140 jet, 1 turn out on the AF screw, this thing is just about right on time. Stock secondary's, stock needle.. Runs great, no sputtering on the big end, crisp throttle response once it is started up and warm.. Not really sure how much better it can get. Just a rec bike, so no hard core racing or trying to squeeze every pony out of it.. Going to run it some more, do a plug chop, to get a better idea of how its running.. But thus far right on time
