I Just got a 06 Polaris predator 90, The power sucks compared to my kfx80 quad.

It runs great but just lacks power in all areas.

I am looking for the bang for the buck.

there are pipes, CDI, Carbs, Clutches, high compression head and larger piston/ bore.

For 170$ I can bump it to 110cc, for another 30$ i can cut the cylinder down for more Power.

My thinking is this is the big change and would result in a good power jump. I can later add to it if needed. Am I correct in my thinking?

Best power for buck is the goal.

What would be a good space for me to cut the cylinder down to? I don't want to run over 91 Octane if possible.

Bump! i did the larger piston kit. more power for sure but lacks on the top end. More fuel? or CDI? What about cutting the head down, how much?

I picked up the Hetric power up kit. Pipe, CDI, and lots of springs. I used 5.5g rollers and the white springs 2000 RPM. I have had to test jets. They sent me 3 but all are too small. I have jet drills so I can play with them. on testing it looks like 130 main jet works great and the quad is way faster. I has a strong power band but it is short lived. Than again I am a big guy at 370.

From reading it seems if you go past the power band you should add weight to the rollers, right??
My testing is on asphalt and not in the sand where it will run the most at.

My thinking it may be better to have the lighter rollers to fight bog down going up hills.
In the end my kids about 80 lbs. Will be running this so not sure how to think on the weights.

I would go lighter but in the end it all adjust and test and repeat! You need a stop watch and a marked off area to test and keep track of the changes.

a pipe will give you great gains but you will have to clutch it properly for the pipe.I have a billet aluminum high comp head if you want it.

I have 6 rollers at 5.5g each in. I also have 6 at 6.5 ea.
Is it better to run 3 rollers

My rear sprocket is 35 tooth and the front is 19. Stock carb with 130 jet. While driving it the Front pulley was fast to move half way but the last half took a longer time. It mover up slowly as speed increased. It use to pull wheelies at take of but now not so easy. What sprockets would be better for sand? Larger rear and smaller front or can you do one only.

Well I took the quad to Glamis and with out a doubt the quad can dune now. Thank you for the HC Head. I have not put it on yet but will . I did not like the high stall springs so I will change them out to the 1000. My girl does not launch it and did not like the clutch having to run the RPM up to putt around. The 130 Main jet worked well here at 4000ASL and at sea Level. perhaps a 135 would be better but for now it runs fast and strong. Thank you all.

I do have one issue with the quad. It runs out of fuel when you hit it hard or some times just duning. Is the fuel system able to keep up with a larger 110?
I checked the fuel filter. added a new one. I changed the lines, I checked the fuel tank for debris.

To be sure this is not the big jet right? If it is it is a 130 and my AFR is 14. I have a tuner..

remove the fuel bowl and inside there will be two jets.it is the smaller of the two.not the one in the middle of the carb.it's offset a little from the center.go up a few points and see what happens
