why is yamaha coming out with all these raptor bikes? idk anyone that likes raptors and they've already came out with a 660,700,350,250,now a 125 WTH. seems like by now they would have a yfz250 or 350 but atleast base it on a different model than a craptor

anyone behind me?

i know! it would b so awesome if they put the yzf 250 motor in a quad. and i think the raptor 250 should have canceled out the 350 raptor. id buy a yfz250, if yamaha didnt de tune it to much, just put a more restrictive exhaust on it it would pass emisions, pipe it and have a 35 hp bike

My wife rides a raptor its a good bike for her in the woods. Im right there with yall though why build a raptor 250 instead of a yfz250 with the dirt bike motor. It would easily be a much better bike than the raptor. My friend has a raptor 250 and all the guys have had a turn and in just will not hold up to hard riding without a gusset kit at the least. Motor mounts break constantly and the batter will rip through the factory box. His has done all of this.

I totally agree, a race ready 250 or even better a race ready 350 would be awesome. Especially with the 400cc rule in MX racing it would give kids a better machine to race than crappy little 250's. I like the 125 though because it's perfect for someone starting a little late in the sport and not having to ride a tiny 90 but the raptor 350 and all those are ridiculous. I'd also love to see a true 550 race quad that would be awesome!

a 125,250 would be a bike youth could ride in the school boy sr. or even jr. they race the 300ex's built out the rear end it isnt even funny those kids are running A class and pro am lap times on a freakin 300ex WTF

right but if you could have a liquid cooled, 50 inch quad right off the showroom over having to mod the 300ex id go with the first option.

The Raptor 250 was designed / produced to fit a niche market where the Blaster left off......it's a great quad for anyone who isn't quite ready to go up to a full-size/power quad. It's handling is amazing, and the best for sure in it's class - I want to buy one for my son.

The Raptor 125 was, once again, produced for a niche market. They aimed it at those new ATV enthusiasts who were sucked into the China quad market for their first purchase - who enjoyed riding a quad, but who wanted a better quality machine at an affordable price. It's got less power than the 250, but surprisingly, still has plenty of power for who it was designed for, and the great handling of the 250. The 125 is Yamaha's least expensive quad in that class......

And Raptors are actually extremely popular......maybe not in racing so much, but for trail riders, general use and dune riders, it's a very popular machine. Tons of them out here in the West.....

I totally agree with 400grl. I had the Raptor 250 and that was a great machine for everything. Stock it could've used a little power for the dunes but that's nothing hard to fix. Easy to work on and got me hooked on the sport. Now I have a Trx450r but the Yamaha ATV's are phenomenal and there's one for everyone out there. Hopefully I can junk this thing and buy a yfz450r.

I know, they are really spendy but I think if you learn to ride on a Yamaha it's really hard to transition over to anything else and I don't want to mod out a yfz450 to meet the Yfz450r so I'm hopping on one ASAP.

Because it's more of a race quad, like the YFZ450 and R.....

Neither the blaster or banshee really fill the youth race quad slot. Both handle poorly in stock form and the banshee is much to powerfull and just to big of a chassis for a small rider. Both also have poor brakes and both ride like a 1 ton truck.
