If you mean length: You can get them in stock length, +1, +2, and possibly +3 but I'm not sure if they go up that high.

Diameter: Yes, they are thicker than the stock stems. When I got my Houser stem a new clamp was included to replace the stock one. The Houser clamp is VERY well built and will be around long after the stock plastic one has rotted away into nothing.

This was on my 2003 Z400... I'm not sure if the newer Z's have changed, but if you have one of the older ones then you will be needing the new clamp along with the stem. The clamp simply bolts into where the stock one did. Very easy install and I was very pleased with my Houser stuff.

EDIT*- Just saw in your sig that you have a +1 stem... Check to see if the clamp that bolts to the frame is the stock one. If it is the stock one then the stems are the same diameter. If the clamp is an aluminum Houser clamp then the Houser stem is bigger.

the clamp is stock. so that means the diameter is the same, right? because i have a steering stabilizer coming in tomorrow and i was wondering if im going to need a new mount for it.

Yep, its the stock diameter if you're using the stock clamp. You should be good to go!
