Don't know who all remembers me, since I haven't posted anything in a while. Just wanted to say thanks for all the help with everything on the quad but it is now sold, I ship of to basic training in the beginning of October. I will train for 4 months and then go to Afghanistan 2 or 3 months after that, so I will definitely not be posting anything for a while.

i thought basic training was 8-12 weeks then soi is like 60 days then depending on your mos another 30. being told you'll be going straight out to the middle east after training sounds like false info. they station you in a "friendly" country for quite some time sometimes years so you can train doing your mos. just sounds like a recruites is doing what they are known for, lying.

Basic is 9 weeks (technically 10 with a week 0) my AIT is 5 weeks since I went Infantry...I Joined the Army National Guard, so I'll come back for 2-3 months and then we ship out, one of my buddies is also in the unit and he confirmed it all. The recruiter has been real straight forward with me the whole time.
