Well, I tore down my 250X, she needs a lot of tlc, but I'll get her to 100%. Here are some pics of the break down. The frame, steering stem, and swing arm are at the powder-coater right now, here are the plans for now:

Chasis: Textured black powdercoat,
Burgard cycle +2 A-arms, Elka front suspension, 400EX Spindles/hubs, brakes.

In the rear i'll be running a stock swing arm, with an Elka shock, and a G-force +4 axle. AC racing nerfs, bumpers, and skids.

The motor is getting new hone, piston and rings, and a hotcams stage 1. I will also be running a K&N filter and a FMF Q4 exhaust with a jetted oem carb. There will be other little odds and ends, I will keep ya's posted!

I ordered all new cables from motion pro, and all new bearings from All Balls bearings. Still not sure on my tire/rims setup yet.

I'll be ordering all new plastics as my oem ones are all cracked up. Enjoy the Pics!! Comments/opinions are welcomed!

Looks like one of my projects. Good luck and I will have a boat load of 250x/350x/250r/400ex parts available in November. I went overboard a little on buying crap on ebay, changed directions mid build and now have a complete bike less exhaust waiting for me. All this while in Iraq. Keep in touch and I have subscribed to your thread.

How much did the powdercoat cost if ya dont mind?

KYspoon-- thanks for the response! and get home safe! To powder-coat and sandblast the frame it came out to $250. Just picked up a few parts today, and it looks fantastic!! I already have the motor, steering stem assembly, and some controls mounted. The frame is a textured black, the steering stem is battleship gray, i also spent hours cleaning the motor. enjoy the pics, PS just ordered my quad stand, waiting for it to come in! :D

-motor in frame
-brand new all balls bearings and seals in steering stem
-brand new motion pro clutch and reverse cables
-new tusk t-10 handlebars

Looks great.....

Yeah I agree. Seems there is only a handful of people who reply to your/our builds.

But, I suppose its b/c I'm used to some truck forums where there are like a million posts since the last time I logged on...lol!!! :eek2:
