What HP will I get from a 400ex with these mods ?
440 12.5.1
p&p head
stage 2 hot cam
full pipe
450 r carb.
open air box k&n
15/36 gearing

What Will It Do?
It will be Faster than a jet Airplane and able to leap tall buildings with a single "BRAAP!" As for definitive HP, Only a Dyno really knows.

Just looking to see what yall think it will do. So i will have a some what base line to go off of thanks.

It should run well.

I have a similar setup except I am running a 12.5:1 416, with an XR400 cam and a 40mm FCR. Also, my gearing is 15/38.

Mine will run with most 450s and Raptor 660 and 700s without any issues. I can usually hold them off in a drag race until I hit 5th gear.

Also, with a 12.5:1 compression ratio on an air/oil cooled engine, you will need to run an octane of around 100 to keep the engine temps down. Most people run E85 or a mix of race gas and premium pump fuel.

Not sure of the HP or torque numbers but should be around 40HP.

Well it put out 39 hp motor and with some help it put out 61 hp. But the clutch sliped after 60 hp. thanks for your input it was help full to have sometihng to some what go bye.

we are gonna need some sheets for 60 hp. you running nos or a turbo or what. you said 39 hp on engine which is about right. 60 just doesnt do it for me... that is by far the highest hp 400ex i have ever heard of. theres no 440 running that on straight engine, at least that i have seen. :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: not real without proof and pics. sorry, steve

The key word's in there is ( WITH A LITTLE HEPL ) So if you have 39 HP and you add (NOS AS YOU) say it. it will go there. and if you have 39HP and you add a ( TURBO ) It will go there. so way can't you see 60HP ? please don't get me wrong im not starting a fight with you all. Just putting it out there what can be done.

haha u said when you started dynoing it had 39 than u tuned it to 61? u most a had a purple power band and yno jets and greased muffler bearing that the only tricks iknow

Ok if you know any thing about motors and nos and how it works. Then its not hard to do the math 39 hp on motor and a 22hp shot of nos will put you over 60 hp. please just call cuz if i show you the dyno yall will say its not true. and i am a man of my word. if i say it can be done its cuz i have done it. not that i heard it bing done.

that is way too much for this engine to take as you are finding out in a hurry. clutches slip, valves float, pistons melt, crank bearings go. it will only be a matter of time. i know i wont be needing any help since i know what mine is capable and is fine where it is at. 34.2 hp is pretty good on a 416 that has 2 years on it and 1000 miles. I also have my dyno charts for mine to prove it. i am willing to bet that it is just nitrous sprayed straight like guenther suggests also. spraying is like a hot girl with an STD, you know you wanna hit it but the consequences could be disastrous. i wont be giving any love since i dont go for that. a congrats would be about it and thats all. but anyway congrats... steve

damm we pull 1/4 scale tractors runing on alchol , billit head, rod,piston. steel crank,steel recasted block,custom ground cam, moved valves titanium, all the best stuff and can only get 53hp at 4100 rpms 48.61lb torq, on my TRIK- computorized dyno. Man i beter keep my son outa the shop he'lll be tearing down his 400ex and tryin to get 60hp outa it !!! LOL !

Listen Rico Suave, just post up pictures of your nitrous set up. Plain and simple. This will get us to stop "fighting" as you call it. By the way we aren't fighting, just calling someone out on their BS. My guess is that you put the hose from the nitrous bottle directly into the intake boot. Prove me wrong Eric.
