The only difference is you have slightly smaller domes. Other then that you are both just piped. (According to your post)
And in my opinion, FMF's work better on a fairly stock bike. Toomey's work better with port work/etc.
So I would look into a new intake. (I prefer foam like Uni, but it's all personal preference.) Remove the air box lid. Get an adjustable timing plate and set it to +4*. I would go (1) tooth smaller on the front sprocket and an aggressive tire.
To be honest, porting is the best bang for the buck. For about $300, you can have HJR (HerJuggsRacing) port your cylinders with a nice dune port, and be a LOT faster then a stock piped banshee. Plus your toomey's will respond well to the porting.

And if you don't have reeds, they will help you a little bit also.
I have boysen RAD valves and don't care for them. I would go with Vforce.

They're located on the intake right before the cylinders. Basically they're a one way door. They let air into the cylinder, and then close so air can't be pushed back through the intake.
Basically aftermarket ones are just designed to open a little more for more air flow, and function a little better to make the throttle response better.
They aren't TOO big of an increase, mainly throttle response, but it all adds up.

Haha, I'm not going to be mean because I can tell you're kind of new to the whole performance thing.
Reed's are strictly a 2-stroke thing. 4-strokes have valves and don't require reeds. So you cannot buy reeds for a 250ex, 400ex, 300ex, any 4-stroke.
Most of the time jetting changes or other mods aren't required with reeds.
