View Full Version : Gutting wire harness question

im stripping down my 05 wire harness, i have a question, the plug for the red overheat light has a wire that runs to the cdi box, where this wire enters the plug what do i do with it? cut it off? pull it out of the plug?

i pulled the terminal out of the cdi plug and then filled the cavity with silicone

i'm doing the same thing to my 06.
took out everything... I hope it works

do you have the stripped down schematic? it was posted about 3 months ago Ill see if i can find it if you need

yea i saw that although im not doin that exactly.

i have a hard copy of the service manual so i have the wire diagram in the back

im keeping my fan so i need the rectifier and condinser so im not following that other one completely

eastside what did you do with the junction connector did you just pull out the light switch and leave everything grounded in there?

what junction connector are you talking about, the splice spot for all the ground wires?

if you look there is a ground going from the engine on/off/light switch to this connector, what did you do with that wire?

I kept that wire and used it for one side of my pull switch with the b/w wire

I can highlight it for you what are you keeping? key? kill switch? fan or fan switch? is it an er? tell me what you want to keep and ill see if I can get highlight it for you.... but if its not er then you would just keep the same components as 05 but the wire colors might be a little different and the pin out of the exciter connector is a little different

it's an 06 kicker..
mY wire harness has a plug to alternator,coil, tether kill, and 2 to the cdi and I am hopeing it works.......
