Matt came out of retirement to run Wes Stones immaculant Roll R at Unadilla this weekend. I figured you R nutz would enjoy this! Matt put in a killer ride, finishing 21st overall in the afternoon race!

Awesome picture! Its cool to see pro riders still dustin off the ol' 250r every once in a while and racing it.

It's a shame the ridiculous production rule forced him into the Jr A class. With any luck this rule will go away. Congrats Matt on the "dinosaur" bike!

That pic gives me chills, brings back so many memories of not so many years ago. Awsome to see that this "dinasour" can still run with the most advanced technology out there. Matt Smiley is a seasoned veteran and its great to see him riding like a 20 year old!!! Long live the 250R

My son and I were at the race spectating. He ran very well. I got some video of Matt on a hillclimb between mile marker 8 & 9. I'll try to post them up tonight. There were three R's running in the morning race. One was a real nice Laeger that was pitting with Wes's Roll. Great day of racing and seeing the R's on the track makes it that much better!

I'd absolutely love to see someone do this on the mx side of the fence. For XC, the highest class Matt Smiley could race was Junior 22+ A class, which he won. At the mx nationals, a 250R could race the Pro Am Unlimited class.

How sweet would it be to see a pro or former pro race a 250R at the mx nationals in the Pro Am Unlimited class? And he could run any engine size he wanted!

HA HA Go Matt Smiley. Bet everyone was laughing at him on the line pointing and giggling like 20 year old punks. Look who is getting the last laugh. little did they know what they were dealing with

Matt Smiley's laps aboard Wes Stone's Roll Design 250R. Seeing the R always makes the race even better. Most of the videos are from the hill between mile marker 8 & 9 of the 2010 Unadilla GNCC. He was running with pro Brian Cook (#5 KTM) the last half of the race. Enjoy

farr and hitt ran a tt a while back farr just practiced hitt ran the pro am unlimited he ran up front the whole time word is he probably would have won but was having motor issues i think a blown head gasket. and i believe he was on a stock cylinder or at least a small bore motor. As far as smiley that is awesome!! Wish i was there anyone know if he has plans to run anymore rounds i sure hope because we all know he will be faster the more he rides it. and i would love to chear him on at ironman.

Thanks for everyones support it was great to get out there again on a Roll 250R. As it stands now I'm going to the Ironman to give it another shot .This time I'll be more prepared and hope to finish well into the top 20.
