I almost didnt answer this.. but I figured id save you your lunch money.

Honestly kid, think about it.. why do you think theyre so cheap? Because they ARE cheap!!!

First time you flip whatever you put them on, they'll either bend or break. Save your money and buy some good bars.. Renthal is what id reccomend. Ive been running the same set of Renthals for a couple years now with no complaints.

I had a set of MSR dominators that lasted a pretty good while.. but a hard enough hit is gonna bend or break almost any set of bars.

protaper SE, so far I cant kill them and they are decently cheap..

Buy once, cry once I always say. You get what you pay for when you skimp out usually.

x2 on that. Save your money and go with protaper SE's. I have the mid bends and they work well for me.

I look at it a different way. If you get good bars and flip over/crash hard enough you will bend the stem, then the bars. Both of my quads had bent stems due to that. One still has the bent stem, its not bent enough to replace it. I'd rather replace a bar over a stem. I have cr high pro-tapers 1 1/8"and some other cr high 1 1/8" bar as a spare. I will agree, most of the tusk stuff is CHEAP and doesn't last like others will. I had good luck with a bunch of tusk stuff, I had. My tusk bark busters are still taking hits 4 years later, I only replaced the hand guards(plastic shields) once and the brake rotors of mine are lasting awhile.

thanks for the input guys-but im kinda on a budget and i agree with deathman53 in a way,id rather replace a 30-40 dollar bars then a 200-300 dollar stem, but one thing i dont understand is like, what is the real difference between steel and aluminum besides the obvious metal properties?whats the advantages and disadvantages?

on servicehonda.com a stem for a 400ex is $55(at least it was 3 years ago when i had a 400). that is cheaper than almost any set of bars you will buy unless you buy crap bars. i ran tag x-5 bars on my quad. they were great. very strong. i bent two stems on one set of bars lol. but the stem cost me less to replace than the bars. then i started running bark busters and couldnt run the cross pad anymore cuz it got in the way of the mounts for the bark busters. rolled it without the cross bpad(which also braces the bars and makes them stronger) and didnt bend the bars. i highly recommend.
