View Full Version : Frame repair, gusset, and coat

I had planned to have the frame gussetted and coated this winter. After this weekends ride and tagging a hidden tree stump I now need to get the frame repaired as well. Are you able to do repairs? It is a z400 frame and the lower left tube is pulled to the left.

I can send you some photos of the frame damage, its not bad. I just want to get it straight and then make sure this doesnt happen again.

From what i can see you MIGHT eb able to save it...but you will need to find an autobody shop with willing to either use a frame machine, or find yourself a way to bring teh front end back in line. From the pics I cant see any kinks in the tubing.

If it were me, I would be looking for a replacement on ebay etc but from what I can see you could probably salvage it...although getting the front end aligned will be difficult.

I know where a few brand new take off frames are, I think he wanted around $500 a piece.

If you wouldnt mind asking I would appreciate it, if he is close to you may save me on shipping one to you for gussets and powdercoat.

I will have to get back to you on getting a frame from him, may be picking one up for considerably less.
