My birthdays right around the corner and my parents are gona get me some new boots but I just dont know exactly what I want. Im leaning towards garne sg12s or some type of Astars. What are you guys running and what are your opinions? Thanks in advance

ive run Astars damn near my whole life. and they are awesome boots. but i finally ventured away from Astars and went with a pair of Garne SG10's.. and believe when i tell you, they are the best boot out on the market in my opinion. expensive yes, but well worth the money. feels like your wearing sneakers while riding. comfertable, great support, good flexability and they look bad@$$ as well. i rock the white ones and yes they get dirt fast, but a brillow pad and some scrubbing, they return to new everytime..

the most comfortable boot i have ever worn are made by AXO they are just like Astar's basically except a fair amount cheaper. I'm sponsored by them and they work really well with you too. But they are by far the best boot i've ever worn. So check them out for sure

I got a pair of A-star tech 10s earlier this year and like them a lot, but I wished I could have tried on a pair of Garne boots and also I wanted to try on a pair of Sidi boots.
I couldn't find a shop anywhere nearby that carried the boots though.

SIDI is another amazing boot company. very pricy, but what else would you expect from an Italian company. Sidi boots are well worht the $$ in my eyes. cause lets be all honest here.. its not all about function and protection. they must look good as well. so if you can match protection, with funtion and add a bit of style to it, people will spend whatever it cost to get that product. and in my eyes, Astars, Sidi and Garnes are hands down the best boot witht he best protection on the market..

I personally love my SIDI's but I believe any of the hinged boots are your best bet......

Well said. With boots they can be expensive but you pretty much get what you pay for.

I rock the original Alpinestars Tech 8's in white. I love these boots, I just think they are a classic. Nice support, look great, but a little on the heavy side. Boot technology has come a long way though, the Sidi Crossfires and Gaerne SG10's are also hard to beat.

Black ones look great. That's what I have. I also didn't go with white just because I didn't want them getting stained and nasty looking.

I just upgraded from Oneal Element to Sidi Crossfire SRS.

I wish I had bought the SIDI years ago. They are very comfortable straight out of the box, shifting gears is easier and they don't rub the side of my ankles.

Worth every cent in my opinion.

Never got a change to wear the sg12's but if they're anything like the sg10's they're and awesome boot. I ran tech 10's for a while and really liked them. Mainly for the support internally. I still have a pair or two of sg10's laying around somewhere if I ever decide to get back into riding again.

No,you were prob wearing a little to big of a boot.i have really big feet for my age,my shoe size is a size 12,i wear size 11 quadrants.ive still got about 1/2-1/4 of toe space and it fits my ankles very snug,i love the alloy brackets-way better then them stupid plastic strap things, good calf guard.i was jumping my 400 about 3 weeks ago, overshot the landing by about like 15feet,hurt my wrists, but my ankles were fine, before my quadrants i had some old, oversized axo's/regular shoes,if i would have been wearing either the shoes or axo's id have 2 broken ankles.the quadrants saved my ankles.i hit so hard my shocks bottomed out,,skid plate hit the ground-and somehow my quad ended up in neutral.now there is no doubt the sidi's or gaerne's or alpinestars are better but i will stand by quadrants, cheap affordable, stylish protective boots-i love them(btw i dont have the atv quadrants,i have the mx ones, but i believe the only difference is the sole?)
