Ok so I have a 2001 400ex right now. Currently it is bored to a 440 with a 11:1 piston (I think? can't remember exactly). Also have a lonestar +4 axle, Tag handlebars, AC pro-peg nerfs with heel guards and a Supertrap IDS2 slip on running a K&N air filter with no lid. As far as shocks go I am running the stock on the rear and the 450r shocks up front but they haven't been revalved or resprung.

I am a senior right now and for my senior project I am going to powdercoat it as soon as our current race season is done with (3 more races).

When I have it torn down anything I need to look for or should go ahead and do while it is disassembled?

Also not sure what color I want to do the powdercoat....I have the yellow plastics. Thinking of going with black, yellow or blue....Any thoughts?

Thanks

I have the yellow/blue theme going myself. Yellow/black wouldn't be that bad

well since u are taking it apart u could replace the basic like timing chain, rings, valve seals, but if u just did that not to long ago i would say u will be good

The Piston/Rings were replaced and a new cylinder was put on with the 440 kit....

Still the original timing chaing, valves, etc. When I tear it down I will replace the rings and such.

Do you have to run race gas with the 11:1 440 bore? what do you run? Because i'm thinkin about boring to 440 with 11:1 compression and I don't really want to buy race gas.
