First new CPI sphinx 370

CPI redid there sphinx and Dave Moore put the First one on my motor. A beautiful 370. Has so much low end. I just broke it in a couple of weeks ago. It feels like a fourstroke on the low end. I broke it in rich. Ran a 190 jet at 3300 feet. Need to probably drop down to a 185 but first a 188. One step at a time. Motor is *****ing. Even running it way rich it is still so damn impressive.

I am running an ESR 9 pipe with no air box. I have the airbox eliminator kit you can order from James Lucky Racing. It has a V-force reed cage and a upp intake. The Carb is a keihin 40.5. Stroker crank is a hot rod crank that Dave true and welded up.

Thing has so much low end. It is crazy. I will take it out next Friday and really open it up.

One of these videos is Dave Moore riding it and the second is me. I will have to get some more footage. I am in second and third gear. Mostly third. Dave shifted into fourth to see how much it would bog in turning around and we were amazed.

Your Sphinx looks pretty sweet. I heard that cylinder was being dynoed about three months ago. Do you have any pics of the motor close up?

What horsepower did you get on Daves dyno?

Ordered it in February knowing CPI was redesigning it. Calvin told Dave it was the first but oh well. You are welcome to call Dave and Calvin to ask. Dave ordered it raw and getting it nickel sealed was a pain. Yeah I didn't get my bike until July. Dave told me that calvin bugged the hell out of him in getting the motor done.

Sucky part is I missed the summer. With work I have not had a chance to break it in until about two weeks ago. Dave was bugging me about breaking in my motor. I need to bug Dave about order an exhaust flange because the one sent didn't have spring hooks. Dave did some magic because some of the parts didn't match up. For example the studs were the wrong size and little to long.

I'll tell you I am so impressed with what I have. I had a ct 350 kit and was never happy. Yea it was fast but I rode my buddy's 370 and it was a night and day difference on the low end.

I am going to pick up a banshee and dropping another off at daves place. I will dyno the R then. We didn't get a chance at dave's because by the time we got done putting the motor in, it was five and I had to drive back to idaho. What has other people dyno'd them at?

about the quad, is it a pv motor

Sorry man, it is not. Dave discouraged me on getting another one. His explanation made sense so I didn't order a top end with a pv.

what do you do with this quad i was thinking of getting one but i run mx. guy at red bud was on a puma so that gave me the idea of running a puma after talking with cpi they recomended the sphinx but he said clutch hold up would be questionable. they said high 70hp on that to

A slingshot lockout works real well with that horsepower.

It would be great for mx. I have found that running 25 balls instead of 50 gives you just the perfect amount of slip. It would work really well on mx setup.
