Sam Adams. It's the only one on that list that you can actually taste a hint of hops.

Like a normal beer is any better for you.

The appeal to Loko is, you can buy two of them for $5 and have a REAL good night.

you prob are into fake beers. Just like the miller lite (they cant even spell right!) commercials show. You must be wearing a thong to the bar.

In my house, its Yuengling, Yuengling Black and Tan, Lions Head (My personal favorite...local beer form Wilkes-Barre) and Guinness Draught. Thats all you find in my house. None of that tastes the same light beer b/s

I don't drink anymore but when I did I liked Labatt Blue, J.W. Dundee's Honey Brown Lager and Killian's Red when just having a couple of beers with a meal or something. Before kids when it was solely to have a good time I busted out the college beers; Bud Select, Miller Lite or Bud Light (in that order). I still cook with Guinness.

you dont sip on beer anymore? at all? thats no fun

Guy400
09-09-2010, 10:45 AM
Nope. Quit over 2 years ago and haven't had any since. Not that I think anything's wrong with beer or alcohol but when I was still drinking it my kids were getting old enough to ask what it was and if they could have some. When I told them no and that it was just for daddy my oldest one (about 3 then) says, "Well if we're not allowed having it why are you?" At that point I realized it wasn't worth having it in the house anymore as it was hypocritical to the way I was trying to raise my kids. Children pick up so much stuff by just watching you and it's far easier for me to practice what I preach than it is to explain why it's ok for me and not for others. It's like swearing. I don't want my kids doing it so it's easier to not swear myself than it is for me to do it but then attempt to tell them it's ok for me but not for them and expect them to understand at such a young age.

Not enough choice in there. Rickard's Red and Hoegaarden are both pretty damn good. A very cold Corona and lime is without a doubt the best in hot weather though.

that sounds like a local beer somewhere, i think its hilarious that people expect to see these beers no1 has ever heard of on this poll, no offense, i just did the first ten off the top of my head

09-10-2010, 02:43 PM
No big deal, I didn't mean it in a *****y way :p Hoegaarden is not a local beer, they sell it at the supermarkets around here, and Rickard's well... I hope you don't think that's a local beer lol! I'm from Quebec so that causes some major variations... aside from the popular brands you listed, sam adams and land shark is unheard of to me. I also had many people tell me that the beer they sell in the u.s. is lighter than the one in Canada, is there any truth to that? The average beer around here is 5% or 6% and some are even close to 7% (Hoegaarden). All the light ones are 4%.

Scro

As far as ABV variance in the same product line, I would say it's all the same. Bud Light in Canada, and Bud Light in the U.S. is probably coming from the same location. ABV limits do vary from state to state. That may be what you're hearing of. Alabama's ABV law was raised from 6% to 13.5% about a year ago. That really brought in good variety of beer. Now if we can just get the container size raised from 16 oz., we will be set.
