300ex, 400ex axle

will a 400ex axle fit in a 300ex?

i just upgraded front suspension on my 300ex with a 400ex parts (as in sent in the money order) thanks to bigbore81, and i want it wider in the rear. so will it fit?

ok how about this, will a 400ex swingarm fit a 300ex?

Not sure, maybe? I do know that one from a 250R will as I have a friend that did it. He had the complete rear end (swingarm, shock, axle, & brakes)and all he had to do was make some spacers to line up the chain.

what year was the swing arm off of?
and how much length did he gain?

also why wont it fit?

MOTO93 Did your freind use the linkag setup for the shock? What did he use for the swingarm bolt? In an article back in 96 on this setup they had said you needed to use a 250r bolt and weld the head from the 250X/300EX on it because of the brake pedal. I am finishing getting chain and brake line rounded up to do the install.

I tryed putting a 400ex axle in a 250x which has the same swingarm and carrier as a 300ex and it didn't fit. My friend also tried this with his 98' 300ex.

What did you use to relocate the shock mount for the shocks?

Yes guys 250r rearends do fit on 250x's 300ex's heres mine the whole setup is for sale or trade Its a aftemarket swingarm then all stock 250r complete rearend . Sorry the picture is kinda crappy. There is a bad glare off it .
