This is my desert banshee. 20" travel front & 18" rear. I can ride for ever on this thing. It's like a trophy truck with handlebars. The plastics on it in the pic are my dune plastics. I also a desert tank for the XC trips.

It's a Dean Sundahl chassis arms ands swinger. The woops turn into a washboard road at high speed. An absolute blast to ride. I just sit back and let the bike do the work. The other one, not so much. It's around 200 hp. Now that I'm 46, I don't heal like the youngsters.

Kim Kuhnle ran a shee before he started riding for nacs/c-dale. I know he ran 2 into 1 pipes and an aluminum radiator... Other things, i would suggest gearing down a tooth on the front.... and adding taller tires, since the shee isnt ground clearance king, if you upgrade cabrs go with the lectron 40mm setup or small mm carbs to keep bottom end. the aluminum radiator is worth its weight in gold too. i had one when i had my shee and its the biggest improvement

I agree wiith the radiator. I run the toomy and I can run WFO for ever. Bike never overheats, even in high altitudes. Same goes for the taller tire. I hit my skid plate all the time.
Dean is one of the legends of offroad racing. He's almost 50 years old now. He's raced all over the world for over 30 years. Here's a link with his profile. If you go to Glamis on Thanksgiving, I'll let you take it for a ride. It's like a trophy truck with handlebars.

The first thing you should concentrate on is suspension. Good shocks are a must...elka, works, fox. Stock banshee suspension sucks ***. A -2 swingarm will help with traction and turning. Next good tires. I run the Maxxis Ballance Razrs & they rock. Radial design so they ride better and they hook up great. A +1 antivibe stem & 1 1/8" bars will help dampen vibration and reduce fatigue. A stock banshee engine will have enough power for xc...as for pipes, a 2 into 1 works great but FMF Gnarleys work even better IMO. Get an adjustable timing plate & set it to +4. I run TDR reeds with no stoppers, stock carbs jetted & stock airbox w/ no lid and a Uni filter. Get 5 ounces taken off the flywheel, get the head milled .035" for pump gas. You can take more off if you want to run race gas. I'm using a stock radiator, billet water pump impellar, and a Modquad inline cooler and engine ice...never overheats. I run stock gearing, but if it's a tight and technical course then drop 1 tooth on the front sprocket. Everyone has their own opinion about what works best, but I have found this set-up works great for me.
